Staples offer a delicious range of home cooked pastries and cakes as well as an excellent latte! The service is first class and the ambience comparable with the food choice, village location and customer profile. Well worth the walk from the beach to check out.
Incredible place, fantastic service, beautiful breads, amazing sweets and if you haven’t had a “cruffin” (a croissant baked in a muffin tin, filled with creme pate), go treat yourself! Best thing since Staples sourdough (also incredible). The locals have discovered this place and are already big fans, in my the brief visit to St Peters a small village near Broadstairs, it was clear to see that this special little place is already a firm favourite with the local community. All of the breads, cakes and sweets are made on site and Steve the baker and owner found time to say hello to us. I took my mother (local-ish), and partner. We had the cheese and chutney sandwich x2 (homemade onion chutney was superb), BLT, then cruffin, lemon drizzle (fantastic) and a custard tart. My mother who claims to be an expert in custard tarts said this is the best custard tart she’s ever eaten! My partner who has a sweet tooth said the cruffin is a revelation (new favourite) and I know my way around a slice of bread and have to say the sourdough is fantastic! The coffee is also very good! I can’t give more than 5 stars but if I could I would! What a find, this place is a gem, a must visit for locals and visitors!
I was desperate to find some decent sourdough bread while in Broadstairs and this place made me happy! The coffee was good and they have a lovely terrace. Very nice staff :)
Unreal pastries & delicious coffee. This place is brilliant! I had a vege sausage roll, then a ‘cruffin’ (croissant & muffin) filled with praline cream which was one of the tastiest pieces of food I’ve ever eaten. They’re known for their pastries and I can see why - would happily have picked anything from their counter. Only downside was no cooked food on a Sunday when I was there, but then again I probably wouldn’t have had the cruffin so it all worked out in the end
This dream couple are every chefs dream. He makes the best sourdough in the UK (fact) They work so hard to make the best products and it shows. I can also say that the pastries/cookies/sausage rolls are next level. Stephen I can’t thank you enough for suppling my kitchen with the magic you produce. A true Legand of a man. I just hope my butter meets the level of the bread
Searching through Google Maps for a quality coffee “… best croissant in Thanet.” read as very promising. Add to that an A1 Flatty & a Floaty (Flatty with Oat milk) and…. The best baked cheesecake I’ve had in 20 years. Really. Wow. Wayda’go Staple Stores!!
Some of the most delicious pastries! I went into today and the owner was so friendly and helpful. I bought a few different things but the chocolate almond croissant was incredible. The cruffins are also perfectly baked and really well filled. Would definitely recommend this place - I just wish I loved closer so I could come more often
My absolute favourite place in Thanet - go here nearly every weekend and take all my friends and family when I go! Service is impeccable, baked goods are amazing and the coffee is phenomenal. Highly highly recommend!
